December 2022: Email Inspiration

As we put a bow on 2022 we’ve got one last round of inspirational emails to get those creative juices flowing!

Email 1: How’d They Know…

If you’re a Capricorn and you know it clap your hands (and buy some wicked cool Vans).

Why we like it: I’m not sure if they know I’m a Capricorn but it caught my attention. In an inbox full of new year’s messages and holiday celebrating we poor little Capricorns are afraid we’ll be forgot in the holiday mix…but not by Vans!

✅ Subject line: Customs Capricorn Prints
✅ Visually exciting—the picture says everything, no words needed
✅ ONE simple CTA…beautiful

Email 2: Son of a Nutcracker!

Why we like it: The subject line on this one was just too good to pass up. We were all giggling in the office as we simultaneously reacted to this stunning subject.

✅ Great subject
✅ Easy conversational copy
✅ Excellent use of the “sneak peek” Seth Godin

Email 3: Ohhhhh, Nice gif!

Why we like it: This stood out in the sea of holiday discount offers with this festive gif.

Email 4: Sweet Stats

Why we like it: This mission-minded brand made their most important stats super skimmable and very compelling to the eco-minded shopper.

✅ Big text
✅ Strong mission
✅ Simple shop now CTA

Email 5: A Beautiful, Simple Collab

Why we like it: First…I think it was customized based on my music taste…amazing.

✅ A delightful collaboration with full disclosure on who benefits from your purchase
✅ Simple CTAs
✅ Customized based on the music I listened to most

Email 6: Hm. Sad You Say.

Why we like it: Well, I didn’t really like it. Actually it kinda made me mad that my lack of German-learning would make the mythical Duo sad but there it is. I made him sad.

✅ Great re-engagement email
✅ Good use of the beloved Duo mascot
✅ Sassy and trying to make me want to compete…well played
✅ CTA that shows I can get back in the game with just a small time investment

Email 7: for me?! You Shouldn’t Have…oh wait…yes you should!

Why we like it: What a great use of personalization. Imagine that—sending your customer a gift instead of asking them to buy something.

✅ Awesome use of personalization
✅ Very clickable—what could my gift be?!
✅ Clean design

Email 8: Holy Customization Batman

Why we like it: These guys know what make of car I own. They know what model. They know what COLOR. Their emails always feature products I was looking at but shown on my exact car…their website is like walking through the showroom of my dreams. If you’re trying to curate a really custom user experience—check out their website for some inspo.

✅ They send a LOT of email…and I love it
✅ Amazing use of customization
✅ Great re-targeting campaigns
